Got home last night at midnight from NOVA, figured what better to do than get up in the morning and drive 2 1/2 more hours. It all should make sense when I add that this trip was to West Virginia's finest touring center,
Whitegrass.
The whole fam damily loaded in the Jetta and made tracks for a day of snow. We weren't sure what we were in for on this trip. We figured it could go one of two ways, either a beautiful snow filled day of family fun, or 5 hours of miserable car time. Fortunately the former came through.
We pulled in to Whitegrass and 5 minutes behind us were Joel, Anne, Dylan, Tim and Sue. This of course happened minutes after Whitney and I guessed we would not run into to anyone from Harrisonburg. We all loaded up and they hit the mountain ahead of us. Me and Whitney's gameplan was very "go with the flow". We got skis for Bayden and a sled to pull Adeline in and slowly made our way to the snow farm. Bayden took to skiing immediately. Adeline was a little less enthused. We spent about 1 1/2 covering a 1/2 mile. Adeline felt the lodge was much more exciting then the sled and made her opinion clear, so she and I headed back first. Whitney and Bayden took their time getting back, apparently Bayden found it quite amusing to fall so did so as often as possible.
Whit let me run out for a jaunt while she and the kids hung in the lodge. I proceeded to realize I had too much clothes on and too little skill to have my fun with any grace or composure, but I had it none-the-less.
We decided to get Bayden some skiis and returned home in time to have dinner at The
Thomas House.
Good day
