Winter in West by God

My sweet six year old, Adeline, and I snuck off to West Virginia yesterday for some much anticipated snow and skiing.  I cannot begin to write how amazing it was to go on an adventure with this young lady.  Santa brought her a camera and so I will share some of our pictures from the day.

Sandy was very gentle with the Valley compared to the hardships seen from the Outer Banks on north.  We had drizzle and flurries for a couple days.  The mountain tops and west beyond are still getting snow.

Been a while

Vader and I snuck out for a ride on the new trails of Narrowback Mtn last evening.  It was our first mtn bike ride in months and reminded me of how lame I am not to get out in my backyard more often.

We did a short out-and-back on the new trail and were greeted with this view on the way up...

Gone Fishin'

Mimi and Pappy came for a much appreciated visit last weekend.  Saturday morning the boys went fishing on the the South Fork of the Shenandoah, while the girls got their nails done.

Wakefield

The girls dropped Bayden, Vader and me off at Wakefield on the way to Chesapeake this weekend and we roughed it with Pappy for a night. We caught 7 species of fish on Saturday, above is the nicest crappie out of the bunch.
