Just spent the weekend in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Pop got married! Good times, great new family, and a really fun 12 hour stomach catastrophe. Capped it with Modest Mouse in Charlottesville on Sunday night. Great venue, ran in to Ry-baby Biggs, very fun.

May IMBA Mtn Bike Festival

The last mtn bike ride I went on was Memorial Day weekend at the VA IMBA Mountain Bike Festival. I agreed to help with a group ride of medium length so that I would not be away from Whit and the kids for too long on a beautiful Sunday. The ride ended up being a lot of locals and just a couple out-of-towners. We climbed Lynn and descended Wolfe. A go-to in our Reddish quiver, but one I never do. Had an awesome time on the downhill with PJ and McCoy. The ride also featured Branch Manager, Paul Pineo, Rich Edwards, Mumbles himself, Misty, and Jeremiah Bishop flew by at some point. Shenandoah Mountain Touring was nice enough to snap this picture.

Phillie

Whit and I went to Phillie for a super quick visit last weekend to catch the Roots Picnic and hang outside in 100 degree weather.

Besides curbing my beer drinking plans for the day, the heat did not get in our way.

Highlights were Diplo (twice), The Cool Kids and The Roots. New (to me) stuff that was cool was Blaqstarr and Spank Rock.

Next on the Summer concert tour is Modest Mouse in C-ville on June 29.

I am doing my own Summer tour over the next 3 weeks hitting Chicago, Myrtle, Fairfax and PA on the way. I am trying to figure out where I can fit in a trip to this place.
